Motherfunk*

*Patrick, at 1-1/2, with his cherubic little face, would screech 'motherfunk' every time he saw a chipmunk in the yard. He would get so excited, I never had the heart to correct him.

An interesting tidbit about chipmunks after they're caught by felines and dragged into the house through the cat door: they hide. They hide exceptionally well, squirrelled away in little cubby holes under the refrigerator or tv, or possibly in a bathroom cabinet, then never try to escape. They seem to be biding their time, waiting to die.

Do you suppose the chipmunks are waiting for numerical superiority to rush the cats en mass and escape in a herd?

Chipmunks love to eat. If you put sunflower seeds in a bucket of water with a plank, they will fall in the bucket. Of course, the cats would have to be out of the house so the chipmunk can venture out. Some people used peanut butter on a mouse trap, but I think yours may be too big. The joys of cat doors!

"Waiting to die" why did I find that statement so sad? Poor Chipmunk. Maybe you should feed it some milk out of a beer cap???

TQ: so you're saying...I should get more cats?

Monty: I prefer Chip 'n Dale. Who could imagine rodents would be so cute?

Mom: I don't know if drowning them was the solution I was looking for (but I do keep leaving snacks on the floor. Any excuse to buy Nutty Bars, you know!)

Tiffany: it IS sad that they don't even try to get away...maybe they think they're hibernating? In Alabama?!

I am so happy that you never corrected him...

...I thought that the singer said "and I can play the gittar like a motherfunkin' riot" for years.

I still do, actually.

Chipmunks in CO are really cute. Just sayin'.

EQ: I learned about "the difficult child" early and made a few adjustments.

wait - You mean the kid NEVER came out with this when he was a little older and at the worst possible moment?? You ARE the lucky one. And chipmunks, like rbbits and deer, are so much cuter if you don't have a garden.
