Central Time Zone. Who wouldn't want to celebrate the New Year with a 600-pound marshmallow pie dropping from the sky? (Mobile, Alabama)2011: the year of my favorite snack!
Although I'm a former Michigan Wolverine, I cheered for both University of Michigan and Michigan State today in their (separate but equal stompings) bowl games. Since both were scheduled at the same time, RB stacked a 2nd tv on top of the main one in the living room, where we spent the day in our own private Sports Bar, without having to start a tab.

I have been hearing a lot of good things about Mobile lately, and this just cinches it for me. It will be on my next travel tour for sure.
It is truly hard to imagine something more majestic than the sacred ritual of the Moon Pie!
Oh, how I miss Moon Pies! I can't buy them in my current city. The last time I had one was in Valle Crucis, North Carolina, at the Mast General Store.
I am trying to remember if I had a Moon Pie when I lived in the South - I must have, but I don't recall it. I was too busy mourning the two Western NY treats (not sweets, though) that I could not find elsewhere - white hot dogs and Thuringer (a salty salami-type cold cut). Two football games at once. It might be better than having both my legs cut off, but then it might not. I grew up with soccer (which isn't all that interesting either) and never really got football. It seems to require a number of thugs with a severe need to diet, but maybe I am thinking of City Hall...

Why is it I'm picturing a different kind of "moon", HA. Now put that with "the year of my favorite snack" and see if it still holds true. Oh god, I'm sorry, it's just the first thing that came to mind.

hmmm, a dropping moonpie sounds great even though I've never indulged. I had a few martinis on new years and things were dropping all around me...D
